The concentration of oxygen and inhaled anesthetic required by the anesthesia machine should be precise, stable and easy to control. Modern anesthesia machines are required to be able to release an accurate amount of anesthetic gas from the compressed gas cylinder and an accurate concentration of anesthetic vapor from the evaporator, while ensuring adequate oxygen supply, complete carbon dioxide discharge, small dead space, and low respiratory resistance.
